Illegal wagering ring crippled in Karnal

District police have raided a wagering ring in the Indian city of Karnal. Officials decided to raid a building in sector 4, from which the suspects ran the illegal betting activities. Police detained a father and his son, who operated the betting ring in cooperation with several other suspects.

Betting ring raided

A team of officials seized 40 cell phones, a TV and several other items at the Karnal-based house. Police officers learned that the arrested father (Kishan Lal) was the owner of the house. Kishan Lal had false identities, which he used to buy 43 SIM cards. The raiding team also seized the financial records of the betting activities.

Cricket bookmakers arrested

A few months ago, police officials detained 3 cricket bookmakers in Durga Colony (Karnal). The members of the arrested trio included Bharat Bhushan, Hemant and Rajan. They allegedly offered bets on the cricket game Chennai Super Kings – Mumbai Indians. Police officials seized 8 cell phones, alongside a television from the premises.
